Description
The project activity is a grid connected wind generation project. The project activity involves the generation of clean electricity from wind energy and is supplying the energy to the NEWNE grid of India. It will displace the equivalent amount of electricity generated by a grid connected fossil fuel fired power plant. The project activity is a bundled project activity and involves the installation of two wind turbine generators of 1.5 MW capacity each, adding up to a total capacity of 3MW. The project activity is expected to supply 5020 MWh of electricity annually thereby reducing GHG emissions is 4783 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent for a crediting period of 7 years.

Situation on the ground:
The project activity does not provide direct or indirect employment for the local population, as the company seeks for skilled labourers. Therefore, the promises made in the Project Design Document (PDD) regarding the generation of local employment and the alleviation of poverty by generating additional employment are not met by the project activity. Furthermore, the project does not live up to it’s claim to improve the social conditions in the nearby region. Indicators chosen by the project proponent in the PDD, such as the development of infrastructure and schools have not been met.
Regarding the overall environmental and pollution level no complaints have been reported by the local communities.
